From the Quantel Paintbox to Web3: A Journey Through Digital Art The Tezos ecosystem is making waves at NFT Paris (February 13-14), merging four decades of digital art innovation with cutting-edge blockchain technology. From the groundbreaking 1980s Quantel Paintbox to contemporary NFTs, this event will showcase the rich history and promising future of digital creativity. Among the highlights: a rare live performance by digital art pioneer Kiki Picasso, a three-day World of Women (WoW) showcase featuring new works by Amber Vittoria, and a keynote by Tezos co-founder Arthur Breitman on real-world asset tokenization. The Evolution of Digital Art: Paintboxed - Tezos World Tour Following its Miami debut during Art Basel, the "Paintboxed - Tezos World Tour" lands at NFT Paris, inviting attendees to explore the legendary Quantel Paintbox at Booth A4 (9/11 rue Edgar Varèse – 75019 Paris). Open daily from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, visitors can get hands-on with this $250,000 machine that revolutionized digital painting. The Paintbox, a pioneering tool for digital artistry, was responsible for the MTV logo and the first CGI music video, Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing." Even celebrated artists like David Hockney and Keith Haring experimented with the Paintbox in the 1980s, embracing digital art long before it became mainstream. At NFT Paris, attendees will witness a rare live session where selected artists create new works that will be minted as NFTs on objkt.com. A major highlight will be Kiki Picasso's live painting session on February 14 (16:00 - 18:00 CET) at Grande Halle de la Villette. Picasso, a founding member of Bazooka and an early adopter of digital art, was featured in the groundbreaking 1985 documentary "6 Peintres sur Ordinateur." This performance will reunite members of France's 1983 Digital Villa Medici, marking a historic moment in digital art history. Arthur Breitman on Tokenizing Real-World Assets Beyond digital art, Tezos continues to push the boundaries of blockchain utility. On February 13, Tezos co-founder Arthur Breitman will take the stage at the RWA Stage for a panel discussion on "Tokenization & Asset Management: Unlocking the Power of Real-World Assets." The session will delve into the potential of tokenized assets, focusing on the impact of projects like XU3O8 tokenization. Breitman’s insights will shed light on how blockchain technology is transforming traditional assets into liquid, digital markets. Art on Tezos: A Multi-Dimensional Exhibition On February 13, the Artverse Gallery (5 bis Rue de Beauce, 75003 Paris) will become the epicenter of digital creativity, hosting the "Art on Tezos" event from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Featuring a stellar lineup of speakers, including NFC Summit Lisbon Founder John Karp, artist and DJ Agoria, curator Anika Meier, and gallerist Albertine Meunier, the evening will explore the evolution of digital art and its intersection with blockchain technology. The gallery's three floors will showcase unique installations: Scene’s "Eclipse" on the ground floor, a deep dive into digital light and shadow; Cyberforms' "Deck of Hearts" in the basement, an NFT series featuring 14 artists centered around a Valentine’s Day theme; and a special World of Women exhibition on the top floor, where Amber Vittoria’s "Manifesto Series" will debut. The collection includes three new commissioned artworks with accompanying poetry: "The Future Isn't Something We Wait For," "Shaping An Era," and "Creation Is Our Magic." These works align with WoW’s mission of empowering women in art, tech, and culture. For those interested, registration for the event is available at lu.ma/ArtonTezos. World of Women’s Valentine’s Day Celebration: Love, Art & Pizza World of Women is adding a playful touch to NFT Paris with a Valentine's-themed event on February 14. Partnering with PizzaDAO, the initiative blends art with culinary creativity, allowing attendees to mint free NFTs while crafting heart-shaped pizzas. Additionally, a prize draw will offer exclusive rewards, including signed prints, original artwork, and a World of Women Galaxy NFT. Fans unable to attend in person can still participate through affc.club during the event dates. The final celebration will take place on February 15 at Artverse Gallery, in collaboration with Good News Studio. The event will feature exclusive fireside chats, including a panel discussion with WoW Product Lead Shelley Mannion, further cementing Tezos’ role as a key player in the evolving world of digital art and blockchain.
